SHOT (Shooting, Hunting, Outdoor Trade) Show is an industry-only convention held annually in Las Vegas in January. Organized by the NSSF (National Shooting Sports Foundation), over 60,000 attendees meet over five days to talk business and make things happen for the whole year. Manufacturers have long days with back-to-back meetings set up with distributors and gun stores where entire orders for the year are placed at this crucially important convention. If you are in the industry, you basically have to attend SHOT.
This is my second year at SHOW Show and I’m incredibly excited to see new products, catch up with industry contacts, and have a ton of fun at the poker tables. Monday is what’s known as “Media Day” where invited members of the media head out to a range in the Vegas desert to shoot all the new stuff. Free ammo is provided, and so it’s a really fun day of shooting and getting hands on time. I’ll be reporting all of my findings over at The Firearm Blog, and we have a whole team of staff writers covering SHOT Show so you won’t miss a thing.
