The Can Cannon

There are some products which are awesome, and there are some products which are AWESOME.

The Can Cannon by X Products definitely falls in the latter category. It's a modified AR-15 upper which attaches to any AR-15 lower and enables you to shoot 12 oz soda cans. .223 caliber blanks can propel the cans way beyond 100 yards and it's a really fun product.

In this video I was at an event where the Can Cannon was present so I only had a few minutes with it. However, I have one on the way so I will be shooting more things out of it soon!

Shooting Mary Had a Little Lamb | Musical Targets

No, I did not shoot poor Mary's little lamb, but I did shoot the song on a cool system called Musical Targets.

Steel plates that emit a musical tone when you shoot them. How cool. I've been a musician ever since I was a kid and so being able to merge two of my passions makes it all the more fun.

I have already filmed a bunch of songs and so here's the first of many. The maiden voyage- "Mary Had a Little Lamb" with a Volquartsen 10/22 Superlite rifle, Deltapoint scope by Leupold, and Winchester ammo.

Thanks to Musical Targets for providing the awesome system!

6.9.15 | Second Scoop: Justice in Jersey Part Deux, ATL Open Carry Controversy, .50BMG Good Times

I've been on the road for three weeks traveling and am finally back home for a few days before my next trip. I'll be posting more updates here on my blog to chronicle the fun times I've had but for now, here's this week's Second Scoop!

I discuss how Gov. Chris Christie pardoned Steffon Josey-Davis which is great news, but is it politically motivated?

A man wanting to protect his daughter while escorting her to the Atlanta airport arrives with a slung AR-15 and 100 round drum. While it was completely legal, was it really a good idea?

We have another great Good Guy with a Gun story and we cap this week off with a fun video of Iraqveteran8888 and me shooting a .50BMG rifle.

Ready for your dose of The Second Scoop?

This week's headlines:

1. Armatix files for Chapter 11-style restructuring. Is this the end of the Smart Gun?
2. Washington DC may be forced to issue conceal carry permits without a "good reason"
3. Good Guy with a Gun: With race, guns, and police being such a hot topic these days, this black guy used his conceal carry permit for good, and held a white would-be carjacker at bay until the cops arrived
4. Video of the Week: Jerry Miculek shoots two double-barrelled 1911s by Arsenal Firearms. It's really incredible.

Summer's here! The heat's gonna rise and what better way to cool down than to have a good ol' fashioned water fight?

If you're in California where we have a record drought situation, then maybe you won't want to participate in as many water fights this summer. Sad face.

But for the rest of the country, check out the top water fight projection devices chosen by the Wall Street Journal: http://www.wsj.com/articles/the-best-water-guns-for-drench-warfare-1432921922

California/West Coast burger lovers will understand the reference, but the real beef is in this video here where my buddy Jerry Miculek rapid fires 20 rounds from two, double-barreled 1911s by Arsenal Firearms. Miculek dumps 20 rounds in an amazing 1.5 seconds using the model AF2011.

It's all captured in glorious slow motion video, so check it out here:

Supreme Court Says Convicted Felons Can Sell Their Guns

WASHINGTON — May 18, 2015, 10:56 AM ET
By SAM HANANEL Associated Press

A unanimous Supreme Court ruled Monday that the government can't prevent a convicted felon who is barred from possessing firearms from trying to sell his guns after they are confiscated by authorities.

The justices sided with Tony Henderson, a former U.S. Border Patrol agent who agreed to turn over his collection of 19 firearms to the FBI as a condition of release after he was arrested and charged with distributing marijuana.

After he pleaded guilty, Henderson wanted to sell the weapons valued at more than $3,500 to a friend, or transfer them to his wife. But lower courts found that doing so would technically give Henderson possession of the weapons in violation of the law. Prosecutors also said they were concerned that Henderson's friend or wife might give him access to the weapons.

Not only is an NRA membership affordable at just $25/year, you get a host of free benefits simply for being a member of the NRA.

Most notable is the $2,500 worth of firearms insurance but you also get travel and accident benefits. The value of these free services is $7,500 but that jumps up to $12,500 for Lifetime NRA members. They call this package the "Trio of Security" (firearms insurance, travel benefits, accident benefits) and you can easily and quickly sign up at http://www.nraendorsedinsurance.com/no-cost-trio-of-security.

It literally took me 3 minutes to fill out the online form and activate my benefits. With all the guns I own, I can use all the insurance I can get!

If you're not an NRA member, you can get a $10 discount if you sign up through my referral link: http://bit.ly/1rZyctJ

For more on NRA member benefits, check out this video below. I appear at the 4:28 minute mark.
