I was recently on the gun podcast "We Like Shooting" and I had a great time chatting with their team about anything and everything guns. They are an entertaining bunch, and you can hear the full episode over at http://welikeshootingpodcast.com/105/

There are some things that just can't be explained in words. How much fun I had making this video is one of them. I timed how quickly I could shoot a six-pack out of the Can Cannon by X Products. What a cool product! Check out the video here: ABC News recently set up in a San Antonio gun shop and put in some actors to create a scene where a concerned woman questions a father buying his young son a firearm. I learned how to shoot when I was six years old, and my father taught me how to shoot. He trusted me to follow the rules and know where our firearms were stored in the house. Here's the ABC News segment, do the results surprise you?
This is one of the coolest things I've seen in a while. I was recently in Houston for a photo shoot and someone brought a Smith & Wesson .460 Magnum revolver with a 3" barrel.
The blast from this thing produced a cool ring of fire which I captured in slow motion. Check it out!
I literally have one word for this: Absolutely.
Full story via CNN: http://www.cnn.com/2015/07/20/politics/nra-guns-military-recruiters/index.html NRA: Give guns to military recruiters By Theodore Schleifer, CNN Updated 9:17 AM ET, Tue July 21, 2015 Washington (CNN) The National Rifle Association said after a deadly shooting at a military facility in Chattanooga, Tennessee, that the rule that prohibits U.S. military men from carrying firearms on military installations was "outrageous." The powerful gun lobby on Monday called on the White House to repeal its Pentagon directive that regulates who can carry firearms and then for Congress to "pursue a legislative fix to ensure that our service men and women are allowed to defend themselves on U.S. soil." Troops on recruiting bases aren't armed. "It's outrageous that members of our armed services have lost their lives because the government has forced them to be disarmed in the workplace," said Chris Cox, the leader of the NRA's legislative and political shop. Since the shooting last Thursday that killed five service members, several governors have aimed to strengthen protection at National Guard facilities in their states, including some states choosing to arm their National Guard unit. The Pentagon has reacted more slowly: Defense Secretary Ash Carter has asked military branches to recommend ways to beef up security on bases and installations, but at first only announced relatively modest steps in the aftermath of the shooting. "Obviously force protection everywhere around the world, abroad and now at home, is a big priority for us at the department, and will continue to be," Carter said Friday.
Here's the second video I did with Surefire and their new Ryder 9 silencer. I decided it would be fun to do a little William Tell action and split an apple using a Salient Arms Tier 1 Glock.
Surefire has just released its first 9mm pistol can, and it shoots like a dream. Surefire invited me to their range to check it out, and of course shoot it! Man, it's stupid quiet. See and hear for yourself in the video below. Who knew Oakley had a secret sauce? That sauce, is technology. Oakley invited me back down to Southern California headquarters to get some insight into how they utilized technology to develop their new "Tombstone" eyewear. It was a real treat to meet directly with Oakley's Research & Development team to get insights firsthand, and luckily for you, I got to film it all and share it right here in the video below. You'll learn how Oakley puts tech to good use, and see how Tombstone came to be. There are some products which are awesome, and there are some products which are AWESOME. The Can Cannon by X Products definitely falls in the latter category. It's a modified AR-15 upper which attaches to any AR-15 lower and enables you to shoot 12 oz soda cans. .223 caliber blanks can propel the cans way beyond 100 yards and it's a really fun product. In this video I was at an event where the Can Cannon was present so I only had a few minutes with it. However, I have one on the way so I will be shooting more things out of it soon! No, I did not shoot poor Mary's little lamb, but I did shoot the song on a cool system called Musical Targets. Steel plates that emit a musical tone when you shoot them. How cool. I've been a musician ever since I was a kid and so being able to merge two of my passions makes it all the more fun. I have already filmed a bunch of songs and so here's the first of many. The maiden voyage- "Mary Had a Little Lamb" with a Volquartsen 10/22 Superlite rifle, Deltapoint scope by Leupold, and Winchester ammo. Thanks to Musical Targets for providing the awesome system! |
